WORSHIP
Schedule, publish, and ensure the presence of song and prayer leaders and
scripture readers at each service.
Promote preplanning of the worship service to coordinate the elements of
worship around a central theme, utilizing a worship planning form completed by
the minister and communion leaders with sermon topic, relevant scriptures and
outline, communion theme and scriptures, and song requests to assist song
leaders in the selection of appropriate songs and prayer planning.
Complete a worship schedule based on the worship planning information and
submitting it to the person responsible for the bulletin.
Schedule and ensure presence of Wednesday devotional speakers and song
leaders.
Schedule, publish, and ensure the presence of ushers, announcers and
communion servers at each service.
Select participants carefully in an effort to maximize worship quality.
Announcers provide the first impression of our congregation for many of our
guests, and that impression should be articulated in a warm, genuine,
inviting, uplifting, and positive manner. Leaders of the communion service
should be willing and able to preplan and deliver a message that helps the
congregation commemorate the Lord's death.
Schedule members to prepare communion trays and procure communion supplies.
Schedule, publish, and ensure the presence of a song leader and speaker for
the Beebe Retirement Center when our congregation is responsible for the
service. Coordinate with the nursing home staff. Publicize the services and
encourage members of the congregation to support them by attending with the
residents.
Coordinate with the preparer of the bulletin to include needed
communication to the congregation.
Coordinate promotion of special activities; i.e., Harding chorus,
children's homes presentations, etc.
Establish a system in which all visitors are greeted and made to feel
welcome, introduced to others, briefed on ministries, treated to lunch, etc.
Ensure that all information is received on each visitor.
Develop a visitor's package - this might include mission statement,
ministry handbook, building floor plan, tracts (about the church, salvation,
etc.).
Provide for the operation of lighting and sound for weekly assemblies and
special events.
